Udhyam Learning Foundation is on a mission to build entrepreneurial mindset in young people across India — equipping them with the agency, resilience, and confidence to shape their own futures. We work at scale across 12 states, partnering with government schools to reach millions of students, and supporting nano-entrepreneurs through programs like Udhyam Vyapaar. We’re at an exciting inflection point — and we’re looking for someone to help fuel the next phase of our growth.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who genuinely loves the art of relationship-building - and wants to do it in service of something meaningful. You will lead Udhyam’s engagement with High Net-worth Individuals (HNIs), family offices, and philanthropic principals, working closely with and reporting directly to the Founder.
The Founder will often open doors and lead early conversations. Your role is to be a trusted partner in those moments — and then carry those relationships forward with depth, consistency, and care. But you will equally lead on your own — pitching, presenting, and representing Udhyam with conviction across meetings, events, and forums.
Over time, the goal isn’t just to raise funds. It’s to help the right supporters become genuine ambassadors for Udhyam’s mission — and to become, yourself, a trusted voice in India’s philanthropic ecosystem.
Partner closely with the Founder in HNI conversations — accompanying him in meetings, reading the room, and owning everything that follows with the same care and intentionality.
Lead independently — pitch, present, and represent Udhyam with authority in your own meetings, events, and relationships, without needing the Founder in the room.
Build relationships across a wide spectrum of people — from first-generation entrepreneurs to old-money families, from diaspora philanthropists to local business leaders — with equal ease, curiosity, and respect.
Notice what others miss — pay close attention to what matters to each individual: their values, their interests, their giving philosophy, their family. Use that knowledge to create moments of genuine connection that surprise and delight — the kind of thoughtfulness that a transactional approach could never produce.
Become a thought partner on philanthropy — engage supporters in substantive conversations about giving, social change, and what meaningful impact looks like. Help them think through their own philanthropic journeys, not just Udhyam’s ask.
Convert supporters into ambassadors — identify individuals with the passion and networks to advocate for Udhyam, and build the kind of trust that makes them want to open doors for us.
Own the fundraising pipeline — from prospect mapping and preparation to proposals, stewardship, and renewals.
Tell Udhyam’s story with depth and clarity — across formal presentations and informal conversations — with enough substance to answer hard questions and spark genuine curiosity.
Track relationships with rigour — timely follow-ups, personalised touchpoints, donor reporting, and a consistently excellent experience for every supporter.
Genuinely human-first — open-minded, non-judgmental, and naturally at ease with a wide range of people regardless of background, personality, or worldview. You don’t have a “type” you work well with — you work well with everyone.
Deeply thoughtful and detail-oriented — you remember what someone mentioned in passing three months ago, and you find ways to act on it. Your follow-ups don’t feel like follow-ups. People feel known by you.
Equally at home leading a room or supporting one — you know when to be the one driving a conversation and when to be the one making space. You have range.
A credible voice on philanthropy — you have a point of view on what meaningful giving looks like in India, and people with resources seek out and respect that perspective.
High ownership, low ego — you take full responsibility for outcomes, work with initiative, and don’t need credit to feel motivated.
Mission-aligned — you care about education, equity, and the potential of young people across India. This has to mean something to you personally.
Existing networks in the HNI or philanthropic ecosystem are a strong advantage.
8–15 years in relationship-heavy roles — wealth management, private banking, HNI engagement, or fundraising for a credible social organisation.
A demonstrated ability to build and sustain deep, long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals — not just manage them.
Comfortable leading independently as well as working alongside senior leadership or founders.
Familiarity with family offices, CSR principals, or diaspora philanthropy is a plus.
At ease in a lean, founder-led environment and comfortable being hands-on.
Work directly with Udhyam’s Founder on one of the most critical growth levers for the organisation.
Be part of a mission already impacting millions of young people — with the chance to dramatically expand that reach.
The opportunity to build a genuine reputation in India’s philanthropic ecosystem — as someone who shapes how HNIs think about giving, not just someone who asks for it.
High autonomy, high visibility, high impact.
Competitive compensation with flexibility to include a performance component.
If you’ve spent your career building deep, meaningful relationships with high-net-worth individuals — and you’re ready to put that skill, and that part of yourself, in service of something larger — we’d love to talk.
