The Senior Specialist HRBP role will play a crucial part in managing and overseeing the human resources and administrative functions of Shiksha vertical in the North. This position is based in Delhi/Gurgaon and may require occasional travel to project sites and central office locations (15-20% of the role).


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Shiksha leaders to understand and address HR needs aligned with program goals

  • Induct and enable managers and senior managers across the breadth of Udhyam’s people management processes and philosophy 

  • Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state regulations and organisational standards

  • Work closely with the central HR team to ensure consistency in HR practices across the organisation

  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs

  • Support organisation-wide initiatives, such as employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and talent management

  • Respond to general queries from managers and employees, signposting them to the appropriate policies and procedures

  • Be the first point of contact for all shiksha employee needs including, addressing employee concerns and facilitating conflict resolution

  • Identify training needs and facilitate the development of training programs

  • Mitigate legal risks by addressing employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner

  • Utilize HR analytics to assess key HR metrics and provide insights for data-driven decision-making.

  • Collaborate with Shiksha team to create and maintain a positive work culture that fosters growth and engagement

Essential Skills, Experience & Mindsets :

  • Proven experience as an HRBP, preferably in the nonprofit sector, with a focus on education initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of HR practices, employment legislation, and trends.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • High degree of ownership and a bias for action with willingness to be hands on & frugal

  • Ability to work with ambiguity and innovative ideas 

  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders.

  • Ability to work with multiple teams and manage specific asks and requirements

  • An independent thinker and people problems solver, able to navigate uncertainty

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Willing to travel to different locations like Uttarakhand, MP, Punjab, Maharashtra etc 


Desirable Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Experience in the areas of Organisational Development , Compensation and benefits, Data analytics and budgeting 

  • Developing HR strategy and Team management
