Roles and Responsibilities:
Own the overall various district operations and end-to-end program delivery. Manage the big picture for the state, ensure effective execution across districts, and take overall ownership of state-level goals, outcomes and performance.
Lead, manage and develop the districts’ team at state. Define clear roles, responsibilities and goals, review team performance regularly, provide coaching and feedback, and build a culture of ownership, collaboration and accountability.
Define state-level program goals and implementation strategy, prepare and execute annual and quarterly plans, allocate ownership across team members, review progress regularly, and adapt strategies based on program needs and data.
Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, partner organisations, resource persons, district officials, school principals and teachers. Serve as the lead state-level coordinator and represent Udhyam with key stakeholders.
Monitor relevant government priorities, policies and regulations, understand their implications for the program, and guide the team in aligning implementation with government priorities and requirements.
Establish systems for monitoring program implementation and outcomes. Build the team's capacity to collect, analyse and use data for decision-making, identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
Work closely with Curriculum, M&E, Product & Tech, HR, Communications and other teams to ensure effective state-level planning, coordination and delivery.
Ensure effective utilisation of available resources, proactively identify operational risks and challenges, and develop practical solutions to ensure program continuity and quality.
Promote Udhyam's mission, values and organisational policies across the state and ensure the team demonstrates the same in its work with all stakeholders.
Take overall accountability for state-level performance, proactively identify opportunities and challenges, make informed decisions, and ensure timely achievement of program goals.
Skills, Experience, and Mindsets:
Based in or willing to relocate to Bhopal.
7–10 years of relevant experience working with government stakeholders, preferably in the education sector.
Strong experience in team management and large-scale operations, with the ability to experiment, pilot new approaches and deliver results with limited resources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Hindi and English.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, government stakeholders, partners and other external stakeholders.
Strong ownership, grit and bias for action, with the ability to take initiative, lead teams and drive tasks to completion.
Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a continuous willingness to learn, improve, and respond effectively to changing program needs.
